Fast and the Furious Star Paul Walker’s Collection to Be Auctioned at Barrett Jackson
Barrett Jackson specializes in antique and classic car auctions, running collector events throughout Arizona, Nevada, and the East Coast. The company is named after its founders, Tom Barrett and Russ Jackson, after the pair met through a mutual interest in a 1933 Cadillac V16 town car.
Their first show, the Fiesta de los Autos Elegantes, was a fundraiser for local Scottsdale charities. The pair would present their first classic car auction in 1971, featuring two 770K Phaetons from Mercedes-Benz that were staff cars for Adolf Hitler. One of them tripled the previous auction record at the time, selling for over $150,000.
The 2020 version of the Barrett Jackson auction will feature the car collection of actor Paul Walker from the Fast and the Furious fame. A total of 21 of Walker’s vehicles will come across the block.
Which Cars Are Going to Be Auctioned Off in 2020?
Paul Walker expressed his passion for performance in the vehicles he worked so hard to collect. He also had custom cars from his movies that became of the impact he made in this area.
Barrett Jackson will present five versions of the 1995 M3 E36 Lightweight produced by BMW. The German automaker provided this variant to individuals who wanted to take their cars to the street to race. It is almost 300 pounds lighter than the M3 produced for American drivers. There were only 120 of these models ever produced.
A pair of E30 M3s from BMW from 1988 and 1991 will also be put up for bids. Walker had a 2011 BWM motorcycle as part of the collection that will reach the block for this event, along with a 2008 Suzuki.
Another popular item in the block is a Ford Mustang Boss 302S that has reportedly never been raced and is built for the track. It features a GT500 transmission and clutch, with Ford only producing 50 of these vehicles per year over three model years.
Chevy Muscle is Also Part of the Collection
You’ll find a series of Chevy muscle cars as part of Walker’s collection that Barrett Jackson will send to the block. There is a 1967 Chevy II Nova, a 1964 Chevelle wagon, and a 1963 Nova wagon for bidders to review.
Even though imports were featured heavily in Walker’s movies, there are only three of these going to auction in 2020. The most exciting one is a 2009 Nissan 370Z that you can see on the screen in the fifth installment of the Fast and the Furious movie franchise.
There are also three pickups on the list, including a 2006 Toyota Tundra.
The complete roster may feel somewhat eclectic, but it is also essential to remember that Walker was in the middle of his collection when tragedy struck. This group of vehicles shows how his hobby began to evolve, creating a diverse set of cars and trucks that can now live on through the love and care of new owners.
You can see these vehicles go across the block from January 11-19, 2020, in Scottsdale, AZ at West World.
